With 31.72% of the vote, Fortnite ended up being the game that respondents pointed to the most in terms of having a toxic fanbase. For a game with the mega popularity it has, it comes as no surprise that a wealth of negativity is present within its community. The topic of toxicity within Fortnite comes up a lot. Reddit threads on the matter are a regularity, and a pro player by the name of Itemm actually left the game entirely due to rampant immaturity within the community.

A TwitLonger post from the former pro broke down his complaints in great detail. “Most in the community are either literally a kid or in maturity,” he said. “Toxicity is viewed as funny in this scene and it just got to a point where I couldn’t be bothered putting up with the immaturity and toxicity.

The other games that got a mention on SVG‘s survey are far from shocking when it comes to player toxicity. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (29.61%), ValorantPUBG (9.39%), Counter-Strike: GO (9.22%), and Apex Legends (8.58%) also earned their fare share of the votes.
